Blogger’s Quilt Festival

Amy over at ParkCityGirl came up with this wonderful idea to showcase bloggers’ quilts.
So here’s one of mine.
First the back story. Before there were blogs, there were email lists. Groups of people with a shared interest, a community of like minds. I have belonged to one such group, the Cyberbees. First there was Rootsweb, an [...]

Quilt update

I need more 3-day weekends. I just don’t seem to get much sewing done on the regular ones.
Today, I put the borders on the quilt-without-a-name:

I dug around in my bookcase and came up with Patti Anderson’s EQ5 Drawing book. Guess what? It has a chapter [...]

EQ6 frustration

I should emphasize here that my frustration is with myself, in the fact that I have ZERO artistic vision and can’t seem to draw something in EQ6 that I can see with my own eyes. Heaven help me if I ever thought I could draw something original.
Here’s my problem:
The unnamed quilt definitely needs a border. [...]

If you don’t have this book, you’re missing out:

I highly recommend it. Sally Collins is an incredible quiltmaker and she’s got a lot of good advice to help improve the accuracy of your cutting and sewing.
I’ll give you one tip from the book. Using super-fine pins when matching seams and points gives you greater accuracy [...]
