If you said Log Cabin, you’d be right:
I was quite proud of myself, how these blocks came together. Until now, I’d never made a Log Cabin block the traditional way. Several years ago, I made a quilt for Erin using Eleanor Burns’s method for her high school graduation. Traditional Log Cabins require accuracy, and good gravy, all the strips fit perfectly with each other. Woohoo!
These blocks are going to be put into quilts using a “quilt-as-you-go” method. I’ve seen it done on TV; Georgia Bonesteel had a series on PBS several years back and I think that’s what she’s known for. I’ve also seen it done on Sewing with Nancy, maybe by Betty Cotton? But I haven’t tried it myself. Looks like I’m going to add a new technique to my quilting tool box.
