I put the last stitches in the binding of the 2001 purple pansy quilt yesterday (photos to come) so I had to start on something new!
What you see above is the beginnings of a Christmas table runner. The pattern is “Winter Palace” designed by Mary Lou Hallenbeck for Maywood Studio. I’d post a link but I don’t think it’s on the Maywood Studio site anymore. Google it and you’ll find a download at quiltingboard.com. I think that’s where I got it. It’s super easy although I’m not sure it’s good for a very new beginner because the pattern, while very nicely written, doesn’t contain pressing instructions and also doesn’t give details about where to line up your ruler when you trim off the excess on the sides. An experienced beginner could do this.
Head on over to Judy L’s blog to see what everyone else is doing this week.
